CNC turning is used to manufacture cylindrical parts on a CNC lathe — including shafts, pins, bushings, housings, and threaded fittings. The CNC lathe rotates the workpiece while precision cutting tools remove material to exact dimensions, producing consistent, accurate components whether you need one part or ten thousand.
Our CNC lathe machines hold tolerances as tight as ±0.01mm as standard. For most commercial CNC turning applications, tolerances between ±0.05mm and ±0.1mm are typical — but we regularly work to tighter requirements for medical, defence, and high-precision industrial applications. Every part is inspected in-house before dispatch.
Yes. Our CNC turning services cover everything from one-off prototypes to high-volume production runs. Our CNC lathe workshop offers 24-hour rapid prototyping for urgent requirements, and we transition directly from approved prototype to full production — no need to source a second supplier.
Our CNC lathe machines work across a wide range of metals and engineering plastics. Common materials for CNC turning include aluminium, mild steel, stainless steel (304, 316), titanium, brass, copper, and engineering plastics including Nylon, PEEK, Delrin, and ABS. Not sure which grade suits your application — contact us and we'll advise.
Yes. Our CNC lathes handle external and internal threads, tapers, grooves, undercuts, knurling, and multi-diameter step profiles. Both metric and imperial threads are available. For parts requiring features beyond CNC turning alone, we can combine lathe and milling operations in the same production run.
We offer 24-hour rapid prototyping for urgent CNC turning requirements — contact us directly to confirm availability. For production runs, lead times depend on complexity, material, and volume, and we provide an honest timeline at quote stage. Our Melbourne CNC lathe workshop delivers across Victoria and ships Australia-wide through trusted transport partners.
